ATRA - SPRING 2024 INTERNSHIP

Atra: Center for Rabbinic Innovation seeks a highly competent undergraduate intern to execute a variety of administrative and creative tasks, supporting the operations, development, and programmatic departments of the organization. Working closely with various members of the Atra team, the ideal candidate will be excited and able to nimbly shift between tasks and projects while taking initiative and asking for guidance when necessary. The nature of nonprofit, start-up work is that every day will look slightly different. As such, we’ve listed a wide range of tasks and responsibilities below, however it is not anticipated that all of these will be prioritized at the same time. The Atra intern will work with Atra’s COO and Senior Director of Programs to ensure they are prioritizing appropriately week to week. 

Time commitment: 5-10 hours/week; ASAP-June 30, 2024

Compensation: $18/hour

This is a remote job with preference for someone based in New York City.

Development

  • Supplemental donor prospect research

  • Tracking moves management and ongoing donor communication 

  • Grant reports and applications

  • Communications - draft donor correspondence, assist in developing fundraising materials (slide decks, two-pagers, etc)

  • Administer the Atra Prize - compile dossiers on prize nominees, draft correspondence, work with Executive Assistant to coordinate meetings, work with development team to coordinate events, work with PR consultant on press releases and communications, work with program team to coordinate with Master Class Tour

  • Provide support in coordinating events 

Program

  • Support the ongoing administration of Atra Fellowships

    • Assist in planning the opening seminar for the Northern New Jersey (re)Design Lab (March, Bergen County)

    • Assist in planning the closing seminar for the Fellowship of Rabbinic Entrepreneurs in New York City (June 3-5) and provide onsite support (schedule permitting)

    • Ad hoc needs of Vanguard Fellowship (TBD)

    • Format curricular materials and organize drive folders as needed

  • Administer registration and recruitment for Atra programs (Atra IYUN Teaching Lab, Master Classes, etc)

    • Draft invitation emails on behalf of Atra staff, track registration, answer questions, direct inquiries to appropriate staff members

Communications and Operations

  • Ad hoc social media posts - facebook, instagram - including reposting alumni and partner news and advertising Atra programs and happenings

  • Canva design

  • Draft content for e-newsletter and segment email list; data clean up of email subscribers 

  • Website edits including posting articles, press, announcements and Atra stories

  • Assist in formatting and disseminating public relations materials (ad hoc)

  • Prepare organizational templates / how to guides; consolidate resources and research

  • Compile job boards for future HR recruitment 

  • Review and categorize spending for specific programs
