JNS recently published an opinion piece that is, at best, a mischaracterization of our efforts to combat antisemitism and, at worst, an insult to the meaningful work underway to create a safe climate on our campuses for CUNY’s Jewish community. Through CAFI - CUNY Alliance for Inclusion, we have worked closely with CUNY’s administration to enact concrete changes on our campuses. We have organized dozens of impactful educational events for faculty and students across CUNY. We have connected with hundreds of faculty members, staff, and students. CAFI has defended our community from attacks while working to improve our climate. 

I am a proud and unapologetic Zionist, supporter of the State of Israel and Jewish activist. Outside voices looking to misrepresent our work to advance their own agenda do nothing to keep our students safe and, in fact, put them at further risk. We will not let this unhelpful distraction undermine the progress we have made.
