Hillel has a team of amazing social workers and social work interns. This resource is open to all students across our eight campuses and beyond. Whether it be supporting students’ mental health, implementing wellness programs, assisting with the management of our food insecurity program, or just being a sounding board, the social work team is essential to the Hillel mission; to ensure ensure that all students’ basic needs are met above all else. Senior Social Worker

Raphi Cooper
Raphi Cooper is over the moon to be joining the Hillel staff as the Senior Social Worker! Originally from Long Island, Raphi completed his Masters in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College after previously studying Economics as an undergrad at Queens College. Before joining Hillel, Raphi spent a number of years working at Yachad, running programs for individuals with all levels of abilities in the Jewish community.
Outside of Hillel, you can find Raphi cooking healthy recipes, taking his golden doodle to the dog park, playing basketball, and exploring the best hikes around.

Taylor Kallman, MSW Intern
Taylor was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Marlboro, New Jersey. Having dual citizenship in Israel and being brought up with Jewish morals and values she is super passionate about her love for Israel and being Jewish. Taylor graduated New York University in 2021 where she majored in Media, Culture, and Communication. She is back at NYU pursuing her master’s degree in social work. With her degree she hopes to become a therapist. Taylor is super excited to be returning to the Hillel team for her second year in a row and provide support to students at Baruch, John Jay, Pace, Fordham, FIT, and New School. Outside of Hillel you can find Taylor reading a book, being with family and friends, or traveling somewhere warm.

Julie Horowitz, MSW Intern
Julie Horowitz, from Long Island, is a social work intern at Baruch College Hillel and a student at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University, where she is pursuing her masters in social work. Julie is passionate about mental health, helping others, and has previously volunteered with organizations such as Shalom Task Force and Friendship Circle. As a proud Jew with a strong sense of identity, Julie values family, community, and faith. She is excited to contribute to Baruch Hillel and make a meaningful impact on students’ lives.

Georgia Kulok, MSW Intern
Georgia is thrilled to join Hillel at Baruch College as a Social Work Intern. Originally from Connecticut and having lived in Washington, D.C., she now calls New York City home. Georgia is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at New York University Silver School of Social Work and earned her BA in Psychology from The George Washington University. She brings extensive experience in community mental health supporting children, adolescents, and adults across diverse clinical and community-based settings.
Outside of Hillel, Georgia is passionate about wellness and exploration—whether you find her trying a new yoga or meditation class, plunging into ice cold water, or discovering the latest corner of NYC. She is also an avid traveler, always looking for her next adventure.

Jordana Bornstein, MSW Intern
Jordana is in her first year pursuing her Master’s of Social Work at Hunter College, where she is on the Clinical track. She hopes to become a clinical social worker and help contribute to the field as it adapts to the ever changing needs of vulnerable populations in our society. She graduated from NYU Gallatin in 2022 where she concentrated in Culture, Community, and Storytelling. She has also worked as an educator at Central Synagogue and the Village Temple.

Galina Edelstein, MSW Intern
Galina was born in Russia and raised in New York City, as a recent graduate of Binghamton University where she earned a Bachelors in Social Work. During her time at Binghamton, she spent much of her time immersing herself in Jewish culture with the hopes of connecting her passion for social work in order to further support the Jewish community. Currently, Galina is completing a Master's in Social Work at Siberman’s School of Social Work. Upon earning her degree Galina, hopes to use her skills and knowledge to further engage and advocate for the Jewish community.

Dahbra Erlbaum, MSW Intern
Dahbra was born in Lower Merion (Philadelphia) and raised in a home rooted in Jewish values and spiritual questioning. She graduated from Stern College with a degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work with the goal of becoming a therapist. This year, Dahbra is excited to join the Hillel team, where she hopes to create spaces for students to feel heard and supported. She is passionate about helping others connect more deeply with themselves and those around them, and believes in each person’s capacity for growth and healing. Dahbra brings a deep commitment to authenticity and self discovery, meeting each person wherever they are with warmth and care. Outside of Hillel, you can find Dahbra listening to music, spending time with her siblings, playing sports, or walking wherever there are trees.
