Social Media and Communications Intern (Summer 2024)

About the internship

HFBA is seeking an enthusiastic and creative summer intern to join our team and support our social media and communications efforts. This is a paid internship that offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector while making a meaningful contribution to our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute engaging social media content calendars for various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)

  • Create compelling social media graphics and videos to promote HFBA's services and mission

  • Assist with drafting and scheduling social media posts

  • Monitor social media channels and respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner

  • Research and identify trending topics and hashtags relevant to HFBA's audience

  • Support with creating and distributing press releases and other communication materials

  • Assist with any other social media and communication tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in social media and digital marketing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

  • Familiarity with graphic design and video editing software a plus

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Commitment to HFBA's mission and serving the community

Work location

This internship can be done in person at our New York City office or in a hybrid model.

Compensation

The Social Media and Communications Intern will receive $600 a week working a 3 day a week schedule.

Hebrew Free Burial Association - Data Intern (Summer 2024)

About the internship

This is a paid internship opportunity for a highly organized individual to assist with a critical project: cleaning up and migrating our existing database to a new system. You will have the chance to learn valuable database management skills while contributing to a smoother workflow for HFBA.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and organize existing data in our database, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Identify and correct any inconsistencies or errors in the data

  • Assist with data migration to a new database system, following established protocols

  • Learn and utilize new database software

  • Document data cleaning and migration processes for future reference

  • May assist with other data-related tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous work ethic

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Prior experience with database management software preferred

  • Familiarity with data cleaning techniques a plus

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions carefully

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Interest in learning new technologies

Work location

This internship can be done in person at our New York City office, remotely, or in a hybrid model.

Compensation

The Data Intern will receive $720 a week working a 4 day a week schedule.
